On August 28, 2025, law enforcement officers from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 5970 50th Ave S, rural Moorhead, for an alarm call at a business. Deputy Sean Mork arrived on scene and located North Dakota 167DSR, in the parking lot. Law enforcement identified two in individuals as J. V. And Katie Lynn Lindgron, hereinafter “Defendant.” Deputies looked into the front passenger window of the vehicle, which was open. Deputy Mork observe two black backpacks on the floor do the passenger side compartment.
A rubber hose was sticking partially out of one of the bags. Defendant identified the bag as hers. Deputies asked Defendant if they could search the bag. Defendant agreed. Inside of the bag, deputies located cards with Defendants name on them, along with tinfoil containing a small brown rock. Defendant stated she last used methamphetamine two days ago. Sgt. Mork believed the small brown rock to be illegal narcotics. Sgt. Mork field tested the rock which tested positive for cocaine. The cocaine weighed.17 grams.
