That on October 21, 2025, at approximately 11:13 A.M. Deputies were on patrol duty assigned to the Hennepin County Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF) when they stopped a Dodge Durango, Minnesota license RRA872, that was being driven by an individual later identified as Ke’ondre Ikel Montrell William and Defendant herein, that had its left rear brake lights out. Defendant pulled into the parking lot of [ADDRESS REDACTED] South in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Deputies approached on both sides of Defendant’s vehicle and could smell the odor of marijuana coming from Defendant’s vehicle.
While standing on the passenger side with the window open, one of the deputies noticed a bag of suspected marijuana in plain view sitting on the passenger seat of Defendant’s vehicle. When asked how much marijuana was in his vehicle, Defendant said, “just this” and pulled out a clear sandwich bag of marijuana from the passenger side seat. The suspected marijuana was in an open container, not in the original packaging, and was in the driver compartment of the vehicle. Deputies removed Defendant from his vehicle and during a search of the vehicle due to the presence of the suspected marijuana, located a Taurus 9 mm pistol underneath the front driver’s seat.
After Miranda, Defendant stated that he had the gun for protection, that the gun belonged to him, and admitted that he did not have a conceal and carry permit. A driver’s license check revealed that Defendant’s driver’s license status was revoked, and notice had been sent.
