On April 22, 2026, at approximately 6:42pm, Coon Rapids officers responded to a domestic assault at the Camelot Square Apartments, [ADDRESS REDACTED] NW, Coon Rapids, Anoka County, MN. Officers later learned that JADA VIOLET GEARON [DOB REDACTED], the Defendant herein, had thrown a candle at her boyfriend, C. D. R. Upon arrival, Officer Nochez observed Defendant approaching him. She was covered in blood and distraught. She stated, "He was coming towards me, and I threw something at him." Officer Nochez escorted Defendant to his squad and then assisted C. D. R., who was bleeding profusely from his face.
C. D. R. Stated he was unsure what Defendant hit him with and that he had argued with Defendant, which led her to hit him with an unknown object. When the towel on his head was removed, Officer Genovese observed a laceration on the right side of his forehead that was still bleeding. Witnesses reported that while they were helping C. D. R., he said his girlfriend threw something at him. Officer Poteete attempted to speak with Defendant, but she remained unresponsive and continued to scream. She repeatedly asked whether Cody, her boyfriend, was okay.
When EMS arrived, she told them, "I didn't want to hurt him. He just came towards me." She kept saying Cody's name and "I'm so sorry." She eventually told them she threw a glass candle at him to get him away. She also admitted to drinking a lot of alcohol. After EMS assessed her, Defendant continued to scream, yell, and cry. She was also belligerent and banging on the squad car’s cage. During a post-Miranda interview with a detective, the Defendant stated that she had been arguing with C. D. R. All day and that both had been drinking.
She admitted to grabbing a candle and throwing it at C. D. R. Defendant continued to cry and appear hysterical throughout the interview. As of the filing of this complaint, the Defendant is being held in the Anoka County Jail for this offense. She does not appear to have any prior criminal convictions in Minnesota.
