Aaron James Ristrom

On March 26, 2026, at approximately 3:14 P.M., BB and DF called 911 and reported AARON JAMES RISTROM, [DOB REDACTED], was outside of the house. RISTROM had been harassing the daughter, DF. RISTROM said he was going to drive his car through the garage door and through the house. BB reported RISTROM was paranoid and manic, and was driving a silver Malibu. RISTROM was the subject of a KOPS alert issued earlier. Deputy Klemp responded to the location of the 911 call-the 700 block of North Oak Drive, Vadnais Heights, County of Ramsey.

The Chevrolet Malibu was parked and occupied in front of the residence. Deputy Klemp activated emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop. RISTROM was in the driver’s seat of the Malibu. He was leaning out of the driver’s window with a cell phone and yelled at Deputy Klemp. Deputy Klemp ordered RISTROM to stop the vehicle as it was in gear. RISTROM continued to yell, and was told again to stop the vehicle. RISTROM accelerated and drove away from deputies-Elizabeth Lane to east on Greenhaven Drive.

Deputies followed RISTROM with lights and siren activated. As he drove at high speeds, RISTROM weaved within his lane and struck curbs. He lost control of the vehicle, and struck a parked vehicle and a residence at [ADDRESS REDACTED]. The Malibu flipped on its roof and there was smoke from the engine compartment. Deputies dragged RISTROM out of the vehicle. RISTROM’s leg was injured. A black Audi was parked outside of [ADDRESS REDACTED] and was struck. The impact caused the parked Audi into the closed garage, causing damage to a vehicle parked inside the garage.

The attached garage of the residence had significant damage. Packages of suspected Suboxone medication were located in the debris that fell out of the vehicle after it crashed. The total distance that RISTROM drove is.6 miles. RISTROM was transported to the hospital. During the transport he admitted he took methamphetamine and fentanyl. DF said that RISTROM sent her text messages saying he was going to smash her car windows out. DF said RISTROM gets manic sometimes and is known to use methamphetamine.

DF showed a deputy text messages that RISTROM sent her. In the messages, RISTROM said the following. “Since you are not going to talk to call or text me back, I’m smashing out these windows.” “You fucking set me up. You fucking loser. You set me up. You fucking set me up. I’m running it through your house….
