On 03/03/2026 at 01:57, Shakopee Police Officers were on patrol near County Road 83 and Thrush Ave., Shakopee, Scott County, Minnesota, when the officer saw a vehicle weaving in its lane and hit the fog line. The officer stopped the vehicle. The driver was identified as Bobbye Jean McBain, [DOB redacted]. Two back seat passengers were identified as Lawrence Joseph Schultz Jr., [DOB redacted], and Dionne Evelyn Knight, [DOB redacted], were laying in the back where the second and third row seats would be.
While speaking with McBain, the officer immediately detected an odor of marijuana and then saw a green leafy substance covering McBain's lap. She told the officer she had been packing a bowl, which she handed to the officer. The glass bowl had both burnt cannabis residue and some fresh green and leafy cannabis inside. McBain gave the officer a mostly empty bag which had been opened, that had green leafy cannabis. The officer had all the occupants exit the vehicle. Officer searched the vehicle and found the following: A black backpack/purse in the back seat, that contained a used and dirty glass bubble pipe with a white residue inside (commonly used to smoke methamphetamine). A MN ID belonging to Knight.
A small, clear cylindrical container containing a white crystal-like substance which filed tested positive for methamphetamine, a Schedule II Controlled Substance, which weighed.9 grams. In the center console was a black purse, inside the purse officers found McBain's wallet and several identifying cards were in the black purse that stored a red container. There were several additional bags of marijuana, which field tested positive for marijuana. Inside red contained were two plastics baggies. Each baggie contained a white crystal-like substance inside, which field tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 1.7 grams.
Inside the second baggies was also a white crystal-like substance inside, which field tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed.7 grams. A total of 2.4 grams. Officers spoke with Schultz disclosed he did have drugs on his person. When asked, Schultz gave the officer the drugs on his person and he obtained a pack of cigarettes from his pocket. Schultz grabbed an opaque baggie from the pack of cigarettes, containing a white crystal-like substance inside, which field tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 3.5 grams.
Knight, McBain and Schultz were all arrested and taken to the Scott County Jail. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
