On April 23, 2026, around 9:37 P.M., Minneapolis Police observed on Milestone camera a male, later identified as Abdirisak Muktar Omar, “Defendant” herein, conducting a hand-to-hand narcotic sale with a woman, wherein Defendant provided suspected narcotics in exchange for cash, near 16th Street E and Chicago Avenue, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers approached Defendant and placed him under arrest. Officers located a small plastic baggie that contained a white colored rock-like substance consistent with fentanyl in Defendant’s pants pocket, as well as bills consistent with what Defendant accepted from the woman.
Officers also located two plastic baggies of suspected narcotics in a crossbody bag that Defendant was wearing. The total weight of the three baggies was about 2.56 grams, and each substance in the three baggies field-tested positive for fentanyl. Defendant provided a Mirandized statement where he admitted he had about 2 grams of fentanyl on him and that he gives narcotics to people for free. Defendant is currently in custody and was recently placed on probation, therefore, increased bail is requested.
