Officer Hansen also spoke with Victim B. Victim B is the girlfriend of Victim A and mother to the children inside the residence. Victim B stated that she was inside the residence and went outside when she saw Victim A talking to M. A. J. She stated that she then saw the defendant get out of the Nissan and Victim A told him to leave. She said the defendant then got back into the vehicle and sped off. Victim B stated that the defendant arrived again and parked on the east side of 13th Street. Victim B said the defendant got out of his vehicle, began adjusting his waistband and pulled out a very large silver handgun.
Victim B said the defendant approached and pointed the gun at her and Victim A. She stated 4 50-CR-26-332 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 2/27/2026 that the defendant then began backing up towards his vehicle and discharged a round from the gun. Victim B stated she saw the muzzle flash and the gun was loud which “scared the f****** s*** out of me.” Victim B said she thought one of them was going to be shot or killed. Victim A told Victim B to call 911. Victim B said she saw the defendant flee in the vehicle northbound.
Victim B said she then went back inside the resident to check on her children. Deputy Fish of the Mower County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call. While in the area of Oakland Place SE and 12th Street SE, Fish observed an individual standing on the corner dressed in shorts and a T-shirt. Fish made contact and identified him as M. A. J. Fish could smell the odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from M. A. J. And observed him to be slurring his words. Deputy Fish asked M. A. J. What had happened.
M. A. J. Stated that the defendant gave him a ride over to Victim A’s residence. He stated that once there, the defendant started to exchange words with one of the homeowners. M. A. J. Stated that the defendant drove away and left him and the address. M. A. J.
