On April 2, 2026, at 1:14 A.M., law enforcement officers were dispatched to a residence located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] North in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota on a report of an auto theft. The 911 caller, later identified as L. P., reported three individuals were outside her residence attempting to steal a vehicle, identified as a white Infiniti sedan. L. P. Described the suspects as wearing all black. She then reported that they stole the vehicle and were driving northbound on Colfax Avenue North.
At 1:15 A.M., law enforcement received a ShotSpotter activation recording five rounds near [ADDRESS REDACTED] North. At 1:19 A.M., the stolen white Infiniti sedan arrived at North Memorial Medical Center. Two individuals exited the vehicle before the vehicle drove off. The individuals were admitted to the hospital for gunshot wounds. Victim 1 sustained a gunshot wound to his lower-right side. The bullet traveled upwards and across his torso before becoming lodged in his chest. The bullet pierced his liver.
Victim 2 sustained injuries to his lip, most likely from being grazed by a bullet. The stolen vehicle was located a short time later in Robbinsdale after a vehicle pursuit. The vehicle crashed and the driver was apprehended. He was transported to HCMC for treatment of his injuries. The stolen vehicle was seized and forensically processed pursuant to a search warrant. A fired bullet was located in the interior of the front driver’s side door. It was apparent that multiple bullets struck this vehicle from different angles.
The stolen vehicle was identified as belonging to RONALD GONZALEZ CEDILLO [DOB REDACTED]. His registered address was identified as [ADDRESS REDACTED] North. Officers responded to this residence around 11 A.M. That day and observed a male in the front yard, raking leaves. Officers noted it was approximately 30 degrees outside and raining, so this conduct was unusual. An officer spoke to E. M. Who reported she lives at the residence with her husband and two sons identified as GONZALEZ CEDILLO and EDWIN CEDILLO MARTINEZ [DOB REDACTED]. E. M. Reported seeing a male steal her son’s car but did not report seeing anything else.
Four discharged cartridge casings (DCC) were recovered outside [ADDRESS REDACTED] North. Surveillance video was obtained from a residence almost directly across the street from [ADDRESS REDACTED] North. The video shows two males whose appearance is consistent with CEDILLO MARTINEZ and GONZALEZ CEDILLO. A male believed to be CEDILLO MARTINEZ is seen outside his residence wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and light-colored shorts. He is standing on the sidewalk with both arms extended forward in a shooting position, facing towards the just stolen vehicle as it flees northbound on Colfax Avenue North.
Another video shows a male believed to be GONZALEZ CEDILLO wearing red shorts and no shirt walking south along the west side of Colfax Avenue North holding both hands in front of his torso with what appears to be a light-colored handgun in his hands. On April 9, 2026, a search warrant was executed on [ADDRESS REDACTED] North. In a clothing hamper in the front bedroom, an officer located a Glock 43X pistol along with two Glock magazines for use with a 43X pistol as well as live ammunition. In the same bedroom, an officer also located a fired bullet.
