On November 23, 2025, at approximately 12:13 A.M., Officer Aldrich was on routine patrol traveling southbound on Hanson Boulevard N. W. In the area of 108th Avenue N. E., in the City of Coon Rapids, Anoka County, Minnesota, when he observed a vehicle approaching from behind at a high rate of speed. The vehicle passed the officer in the right lane. The officer estimated that the vehicle was traveling approximately 55 m.p.h. In a 45 m.p.h. Zone, as the officer was traveling approximately 47 m.p.h. When the vehicle passed him.
The officer stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Michael Steven Segura Nunez, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein. The officer observed two glass beer bottles on the passenger floorboard near the front passenger seat. The bottles appeared to be empty with a small amount of liquid in the bottom of them. Defendant advised that he did not speak English well and handed the officer his Salvadorian passport. The officer used the translator app on his phone to briefly speak with defendant.
When asked if he had a MN driver's license or ID card, defendant said he did not. Defendant's eyes were extremely bloodshot and watery. Defendant had slow and lethargic movements and speech. The officer smelled the odor of consumed alcohol emanating from the vehicle's passenger compartment. The officer ran routine checks and found that defendant had no MN driver's license or ID card. Officer Saldivar responded to the scene to translate the field sobriety instructions to defendant since she speaks fluent Spanish.
Defendant showed balance and motor skills impairment on the following field sobriety tests: horizontal gaze nystagmus; one‐legged stand; walk and turn. Defendant subsequently blew a fail reading of.197 on a PBT tester box at the scene. 2. After being read a Minnesota Implied Consent Advisory, defendant agreed to submit to a DataMaster test. That test revealed the defendant's alcohol concentration to be 0.19 at 1:27 A.M. On November 23, 2025.
