Wayne Darrius Ali Boyd

On April 8, 2026, law enforcement officers were dispatched to a residence in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota on a report of a domestic assault. S. M. Was on the phone with her cousin when her cousin heard S. M. Getting assaulted by her boyfriend and yell, “let me go, you are choking me”. Upon arrival, officers spoke to S. M. Who was visibly upset. She had bruises on her neck, hands, wrists, and upper back. She stated on this night, she got into an argument with her boyfriend, WAYNE DARRIUS ALI BOYD [DOB REDACTED]. During the argument, ALI BOYD put his hands around S. M.’s neck and strangled her.

She reported telling him she was unable to breathe. ALI BOYD was located in the apartment and placed under arrest. In a follow up statement, S. M. Reported it is hard to remember a lot of the assault. She remembers ALI BOYD hitting her and holding her around the face, neck, and jaw area. She could not recall any breathing issues but acknowledged the situation is now a blur. She indicated she and ALI BOYD are in a significant romantic relationship. ALI BOYD has a prior conviction for Burglary in the First Degree in violation of Minn.
