On April 3, 2026, officers were dispatched to a Target in the City of Bloomington, County of Hennepin, on report of an active shoplifter. Employees identified AKEEM EDWINE GBOR [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, as the perpetrator of multiple thefts from the same store over the past two weeks. Responding officers found Defendant in a nearby McDonalds. Defendant ran from officers. Defendant ignored officer commands to stop and that he was under arrest. Eventually, Defendant was stopped and arrested.
In each of the following thefts Defendant selected merchandise from the Target and then left the store past all points of sale without paying for or attempting to pay for the merchandise: On March 20, 2026, Defendant stole $272.47 worth of merchandise. On March 26, 2026, Defendant stole $715.77 worth of merchandise. On April 2, 2026, Defendant stole $146.99 worth of merchandise. On April 3, 2026, Defendant stole 124.75 worth of merchandise. In total, Defendant stole $1,259.98 of Target merchandise between March 20 and April 3. Defendant is in custody in Hennepin County.
