M., St. Cloud Officer Cade Gauerke was dispatched to a check forgery, occurring at Edenbrook Care Facility, at [ADDRESS REDACTED] SE in the city of St. Cloud, Sherburne County, Minnesota. Upon arrival, Officer Gauerke spoke with J. H., an employee of the facility, who indicated that a former resident, identified as Rollie John Finke, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter referred to as the defendant. J. H. Stated that the defendant The resident had a trust account with the facility, but the balance of his account was returned to him on April 24, 2025. The defendant signed check 1001 dated November 19, 2025 for $499.00 and it was deposited into the defendant’s bank account.
On December 3, 2025, after receiving the defendant’s contact information, Officer Gauerke tried contacting the defendant on multiple occasions. Officer Gauerke spoke with the defendant. The defendant said he located the check in his financial statement. He had no explanation as to how or why someone would randomly provide him with money. The defendant eventually admitted that his account was overdrawn and fiancée assisted him in creating a computerized check in his name using the framework of a check that Edenbrook previously provided to him.
The defendant said that he knew was he was doing was wrong. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
