At approximately 11:50 PM on October 31, 2025, Officer Miranda of the Chaska Police Department was performing routine patrol in the area of Stoughton Avenue and Crystal Lane in the City of Chaska, Carver County. At that time he observed a black truck reverse out of a driveway and stop in the middle of Crystal Lane, blocking traffic. The truck had stopped next to a white Cadillac Escalade. When Officer Miranda approached and shined his flashlight, the driver of the white Escalade exited the vehicle.
Officer Miranda exited his patrol vehicle and spoke with the driver, later identified to be Edin Roberto Garcia Jimenez [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter Defendant. Defendant told Officer Miranda that a friend had asked him to move the vehicle so it would not get towed. Defendant admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the evening and knowing he should not have been moving the vehicle. Defendant agreed to perform field sobriety tests. Defendant’s performance on the HGN Test and the Walk and Turn Test indicated impairment.
Defendant’s performance on the One-Leg Stand Test did not indicate impairment. Defendant provided a preliminary breath test which resulted in a reading of.189. Defendant was placed under arrest and transported to the Carver County Jail where he was read the Minnesota Breath Test Advisory. Defendant agreed to submit to a breath test, which resulted in a reading of.17 at 1:05 AM on November 1, 2025. Defendant was previously convicted of DWI on April 23, 2025, in Court File 10-CR-25-86.
