On November 7, 2025, law enforcement responded to an Auto Repair shop in Moorhead, Clay County, MN, on a report that the store had been burglarized overnight. The owner reported that an overhead door had been pried open and a large number of tools had been taken. Multiple metal bars were on the ground near the damaged door and it will cost over $2,000 to repair the door. The missing tools were valued at over $1,000. Several sets of vehicle keys were also missing and the "shop truck" was missing. The missing vehicle was valued at over $12,000. Although several of the cameras in the business were tipped over or ripped to the ground, one camera did capture an image of the suspect.
The image was provided to a crime analyst with the Fargo Police Department, who provided that WALDERN ROGER LACROIX, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter "Defendant" was a possible suspect. Detective Schultz assisted with the investigation and as she reviewed the surveillance footage, was able to identify Defendant in the footage. The stolen truck was later located in Fargo on November 11, after a citizen reported someone breaking into a garage. The truck was found in the possession of two other individuals and contained items from the Auto Shop in Moorhead.
Also in the truck was property related to other thefts that occurred in Fargo. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn. Stat. 609.49., intentional failure to appear for duly scheduled court appearances may result in additional criminal charges, and in addition to any arrest warrant that may otherwise be issued by the Court.
