On January 10, 2026, Faribault Police Officers were dispatched to Wal-Mart, [ADDRESS REDACTED] North, Faribault, Rice County, Minnesota, on a report about shoplifting. A physical description of the female suspect was provided to the police officers. It was also reported that the female suspect left in a silver PT Cruiser with MN license plate no. HZK195. The police officers conducted a search of the license plate number and went to the registered owner’s address in Faribault, Rice County. The vehicle was not there when the officers checked the residence.
Officer Ferris spoke to Wal-Mart’s Loss Prevention Associate about the incident. The Loss Prevention Associate said a female went past the last point of sale with a grocery cart full of clothes and other items. The female also filled a black backpack and a suitcase with items. The female left the store with the items that were in the cart. The female left the items that were in the cart in the parking lot and left when she was informed that the police had been called. The female kept the items in the backpack.
The Wal-Mart’s Loss Prevention Associate provided Officer Ferris the surveillance photo of the female suspect. Wal-Mart reported that 109 items had been taken without being paid for. The aggregate amount of the items is $1,632.42. On January 13, 2026, Officer Ferris located the suspect vehicle at a residence in Faribault, Rice County. There was a female located. The female was identified as BREANNA MARIE STARK, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein. The defendant denied stealing anything at Wal-Mart.
The defendant acknowledged that it was her in the surveillance photo. The defendant was placed under arrest. The defendant was advised of her Miranda Rights. The defendant declined to speak to the officer. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
