On November 23, 2025, at 0411 hours, Maplewood police officers responded to [ADDRESS REDACTED] D E, Maplewood, Ramsey County, on a report of a carjacking. AKS, [DOB REDACTED], stated that she was in town visiting her cousin-in-law. They went out to the bars. She left her vehicle and keys back at [ADDRESS REDACTED]. D. When she returned from the bar, she saw her cousin’s brother, Pierre Cortez Jenkins, [DOB REDACTED], in her vehicle. She had not given him permission to drive her vehicle, so she approached and attempted to grab the keys from the ignition.
Jenkins pushed and pulled her out of the vehicle knocking her to the ground. He drove off in the vehicle. She attempted to follow in her cousin’s vehicle but could not catch up to him Officers located the vehicle, a 2012, Dodge Avenger, crashed in front of 2024 Hawthorne, St. Paul. Jenkins fled on foot from the crash. Officers located him hiding in some bushes. They arrested him. In a post-Miranda statement, Jenkins stated that he knows how the system works and that this case will go to trial and will get dismissed.
He then stated that he was going to his aunt’s house. He said some females were chasing him and he was scared, so he hid in the bushes. He denied being in a vehicle. AKS’s 15-year-old son, LM confirmed that he saw Jenkins take his mother’s car keys from the TV stand, claiming that his mother had given him permission to drive the car. Jenkin’s sister, TLJ, [DOB REDACTED], also stated that she and AKS pursued Jenkins in her vehicle when AKS told her, “Call the police, he just threw me out of the vehicle and pulled off.” Jenkins has a prior conviction for Theft of a Motor Vehicle in 2018.
