On January 8, 2026, Deputy Gengler was informed that Dustin Bennett Sandlin, [DOB REDACTED] was incarcerated in the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center pursuant to an active warrant from Hartley County, Texas. Deputy Gengler contacted the Hartley County, Texas Sheriff's Office to confirm the warrant and their intent to extradite Dustin Bennett Sandlin from the State of Minnesota. Deputy Gengler requested and received a copy of the warrant issued from the State of Texas, Hartley County Court for criminal case number 1749H signed by Deputy District Clerk Linda Welch charging Dustin Bennett Sandlin with the felony offense of Substance/Item in Correction/Civil Commitment Facility.
On January 8, 2026 Deputy Gengler conducted an extradition interview with Dustin Bennett Sandlin at the Adult Detention Center. Dustin Bennett Sandlin verbally identified himself and stated he was not aware of the warrant from the State of Texas. Complainant has reasonable grounds to believe that Dustin Bennett Sandlin, who is currently in the custody of the Olmsted County Sheriff, is the person described in the documents received from the State of Texas and is a fugitive from justice. The said Dustin Bennett Sandlin should be brought before the Olmsted County District Court so that he may be advised of his rights and a determination be made whether or not he waives extradition to the State of Texas or whether he contests and demands a hearing relative to the right of the State of Texas to return him to the State of Texas.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE. FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR COURT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL CRIMINAL CHARGES BEING IMPOSED AND PUNISHED AS PROVIDED IN MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 609.49.
