On May 21, 2026, at approximately 3:57am., Minneapolis police officers responded to a domestic abuse call located at a residence on 9th Avenue Southeast in Minneapolis, Hennepin County. Through investigation, officers learned that Victim was in a vehicle with her current boyfriend, parked down the street on 9th Avenue SE, just south of her residence. As Victim [NAME REDACTED] in the car, the father of two of Victim’s children, NICHOLAS REGGIE JOHNSON, [DOB REDACTED] (hereinafter “Defendant”), approached the vehicle and pulled Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Defendant pulled Victim by her hair and began dragging her back to her nearby residence.
While dragging her, Defendant repeatedly punched and kicked Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Victim’s current boyfriend was still in the vehicle and immediately drove away and called Victim's sister, S. C., to tell her what happened. After Victim’s boyfriend told S. C. What happened, S. C. Immediately drove to the scene. As she arrived, she saw the Defendant drag Victim by her hair outside of her residence in the parking lot and strike her in the ribs. Officers spoke with Victim [NAME REDACTED] had pulled her from her boyfriend’s vehicle and began to kick her in the ribs and stomach multiple times as he was attempting to drag her into her home.
At one point, Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Officers asked Victim if she needed an ambulance and she stated yes. Victim reported that her ribs and stomach were in pain and she had difficulty breathing. Officers observed Victim leaning over crying and holding her ribs/torso area. Once EMS arrived, Victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center. She stayed at HCMC for two nights and was treated for her injuries. Victim [NAME REDACTED] had previously sought medical treatment for a fracture caused by Defendant.
Defendant has the previous Qualifying Domestic Violence Related Offenses: ••-CR-24-••••• Violate No Contact Order – Within 10 years of the first of two or more convictions. Convicted on 8/14/2025 ••-CR-23-•••• Violate No Contact Order – Within 10 years of the first of two of more convictions. Convicted on 6/23/2024 ••-CR-23-••••• Domestic Abuse – Violate Order for Protection. Convicted on 8/17/2023 19HA-CR-22-459 Threats of Violence.
