On September 3 and 4, 2025, Blaine Police conducted a special operation to identify people trying to hire juveniles for commercial sex. A fake advertisement was posted on several websites used for commercial sex transactions that offered commercial sex with a female who listed her age as 18. Multiple officers were assigned to chat undercover with people who responded to the ad. During the conversations, the undercover officers informed the inquirers that the female was actually 17 years old. If the inquirer acknowledged this and continued to seek sexual contact in exchange for money, officers directed them to a specific location in Blaine, Anoka County, MN, where they were intercepted and taken into custody.
One of the inquirers who responded to the advertisement on September 4 was CAMERON NATHANIEL POWE [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Defendant indicated interest in meeting the officer, and Defendant was eventually told "she" was only 17 years old. Defendant made several comments acknowledging that, such as "17, why are you doing this line of work," and "I can't get past the fact your 17." Defendant eventually agreed to pay $100 for a "QV," which is known to be an acronym for a "quick visit," referring to sexual intercourse not lasting longer than 15-20 minutes.
Defendant also agreed to bring a condom. Defendant was then given the address to meet up. He arrived around 8:46pm and was taken into custody at that location. A search of Defendant's person revealed $848 in cash and a Trojan condom. Officers confirmed that Defendant’s phone seized from his vehicle was the one used to communicate with the undercover officer. Defendant is not in custody as of the filing of this complaint and appears to have no prior criminal convictions in MN. The State is therefore requesting a complaint summons.
