On January 20, 2026, approximately around 7:42 P.M., Metro Transit Police Officers were watching live surveillance camera footage of the LRT Warehouse District / Hennepin Avenue Station in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, and observed an individual smoking while standing on the LRT platform. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the individual. Officers observed the individual was wearing a black bag attached to his necklace. Officers informed the individual that smoking while standing on the LRT platform is not permitted.
Officers requested identification from the individual. The individual provided officers with a false name. The individual became agitated and aggressive towards officers. The individual resisted detainment. The individual was placed under arrest. The individual began kicking officers. Officers conducted a search incident to arrest. Inside of the individual's black bag, officers located $433 in cash and three separate baggies containing suspected narcotics. Officers identified the individual as DANIEL WAYNE JOURDAIN SR., [DOB REDACTED] "Defendant" herein.
Defendant was transported to the Hennepin County Jail. During a secondary search, officers located a Marlboro red cigarette box. Inside of the cigarette box were nine baggies of various sizes containing suspected narcotics. Officers field tested the contents of the baggies. The contents of the baggies field tested positive for a total weight of 31.4 grams of methamphetamine. At present, Defendant is in custody.
