Probable Cause
On March 11, 2026, the Anoka Police Department received a report from the Anoka County Workhouse about an escaped inmate. The Workhouse reported that ASHLEY ANN HAYES [DOB REDACTED], "Defendant" herein, had been discovered missing on March 8, 2026, when she failed to show when called for a medication pass. Workhouse employees reviewed surveillance video and observed Defendant exit the facility through the female locker room at 7:24 pm that day. Defendant had not been granted any type of permission to leave the facility.
Defendant was convicted on May 5, 2022, in court file 02-CR-20-5266 of felony Receiving Stolen Property. Defendant was in custody at the Workhouse in Anoka County following a February 24, 2026, court order in that case to serve 180 days forthwith in the Anoka County Jail or Workhouse.
