On December 27, 2025, at 9:50 P.M. Officer Leonard responded to a report of a fire at the gas pumps of the Holiday station in Buffalo, Wright County, Minnesota. Officer Leonard learned the fire was extinguished while he was responding. Officer Leonard observed damage to gas pump 10 caused by fire. Officer Leonard observed burned paper towels around the gas pump. Store employees identified the suspect as a female who had been acting strangely. Store employees said the suspect had been hanging around the store for the last hour.
Store employees said the suspect was walking back and forth between Holiday and Perkins. Officer Leonard viewed surveillance of the incident with store employees. The surveillance shows a female with orange hair, wearing a lavender skirt with a black coat, and carrying a white handbag. The female is observed taking an item out of her right pocket and removing the gas nozzle. The video shows the female doing something to the gas nozzle. The video shows a small fire starting with visible flames and smoke.
The video then shows the female quickly walking away. An employee told Officer Leonard the suspect was back. Officer Leonard contacted the female subsequently identified as Guadalupe Najera, [DOB REDACTED], defendant herein. Officer Leonard noticed the defendant was wearing the identical clothing and carrying the same white handbag as the suspect observed starting the gas pump on fire. A search of the defendant incident to her arrest resulted in the recovery of a lighter and two used pipes utilized to smoke methamphetamine.
The gas pump damaged from the fire has a value more than $1,000.
