On January 10, 2026 at approximately 12:38 A.M., Officer Steiner was on routine patrol in the area of Third Avenue and Jackson Street, in the City of Anoka, County of Anoka, State of Minnesota, when he observed a vehicle, MN license SXK579, traveling eastbound on Jackson Street without any lights illuminated. Officer Steiner got behind the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Officer Steiner identified the driver via MN driver’s license as LAQUAN PIERRE JOHNSON JR, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein.
In speaking with the defendant, Officer Steiner immediately detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage, observed that his eyes were extremely bloodshot and watery, and that his responses were delayed. Officer Steiner asked the defendant how much he had to drink, which the defendant denied drinking any alcohol. The defendant was asked to perform a series of field sobriety tests, on which he performed poorly, displaying poor balance, a lack of coordination and a lack of cognitive functioning. The defendant was then asked to submit to a PBT which revealed a result of.099. The defendant then admitted to consuming “a couple shots” of Tequila.
The defendant was transported to the Anoka Police Department where he was read the MN Breath Test Advisory, which he stated he understood and wished to speak to an attorney. At the completion of his attorney time, the defendant agreed to submit to a breath test. The DataMaster test revealed an alcohol concentration of.08 at 1:34 A.M. The defendant was transported to the Anoka County Jail where he was booked and released to care for his child. A routine record check revealed that the defendant has a prior implied consent revocation from 04/12/2023. The above facts constitute the Complainant’s basis for believing that the above-named defendant on the 10th day of January 2026, in the City of Anoka, County of Anoka, State of Minnesota, there did commit the above-named offense(s).
