On July 2, 2025 at 1:43pm, Officer Turner was dispatched to a shoplifting call at a business in NW Rochester, within Olmsted County, Minnesota. Officer Turner spoke with an employee of that business, an adult male fully identified in police reports (referred herein as R. P., Reporting Party). R. P. Stated that on July 1, 2025, a male shoplifted a laser level valued at $699. R. P. Identified the make and model of the product that was stolen. The suspect entered the store, walked quickly to the hardware section, and took the laser level off the shelf.
He then quickly walked out without paying for the merchandise. R. P. Stated that the male had been identified by the business' other location in Rochester as Marc Thomas Seay [DOB REDACTED]. Officer Turner reviewed the still photos of the male leaving the store with the level and sent a photo out to patrol for identification. Sgt. Schlag also identified the defendant as Marc Thomas Seay. Seay was previously convicted of a gross misdemeanor under 609.52 in 19HA-CR-21-2773. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE.
