On or about October 25, 2024, Law Enforcement was on routine patrol through the rest stop located at 9210 Highway 10 NW, City of Ramsey, Anoka County, MN, when their attention was drawn to a black Mercedes sedan parked on the east side of the park. Law Enforcement ran the license plate for the vehicle through LexisNexis Accurint and learned that there was previously one Law Enforcement contact with the vehicle on July 31, 2023, wherein the driver of the vehicle was COREY DWAYNE SALTERS ([DOB redacted]), Defendant herein.
Law Enforcement subsequently searched Defendant’s name in Law Enforcement databases and learned that he had multiple warrants for his arrest. Law Enforcement also viewed Defendant’s driver’s license photo. Thereafter, Law Enforcement approached the vehicle to determine if Defendant was inside. Both rear windows on the vehicle were partially covered, but Law Enforcement could tell there was a male laying in the rear of the vehicle. The male awoke and looked through one of the rear windows at Law Enforcement.
Law Enforcement immediately recognized the lone male occupant was Defendant. Defendant was arrested for his warrants. Law Enforcement then searched the vehicle and located a black tactical bag on the front passenger side floorboard. Inside of the bag, Law Enforcement located a pistol, a baggie containing a white rock-like substances, and a second baggie containing a white powdery substance. The substances found in the baggies were sent to the Midwest Regional Forensic Laboratory and both confirmed to be cocaine and weighed 5.053 grams and 2.460 grams respectively, for a total of 7.513 grams.
