On 01/28/2026 at about 2305 hours, St. Paul Police responded to the area of Kingsford St and Rose Ave in St. Paul, Ramsey County for a report of a man with a long rifle yelling at another man. Upon arrival on the scene, police encountered two men on Jessamine Ave. The two were later identified as CHRISTOHER Matthew Schwartz ([DOB REDACTED]) and TIMOTHY Allen Schwartz (DOB: 1968-03- 07). CHRISTOPHER resides at [ADDRESS REDACTED] which is on the corner of Kingsford St and Jessamine Ave. Although CHRISTOPHER was uncooperative, both he and TIMOTHY were eventually detained.
Police spoke to the 911 caller, MNM, who said he was driving south on Kingsford St at Jessamine Ave when he saw a male (later identified as CHRISTOHER) with a long gun and a female (later identified as Breanna Lee BOELKE (DOB/1991-05)) following another male (later identified as “JSW”) who was walking away. MNM said at one point, CHRISTOPHER pointed the firearm in JSW’s general direction. Police spoke to a neighbor/witness, CMC, who said she heard a male and a female yelling outside. She then saw CHRISTOPHER and BOELKE following JSW. CHRISTOPHER was pointing a gun at JSW. She said CHRISTOPHER and BOELKE were calling JSW "a rapist" and "a freak". Police spoke to CHRISTOPHER who said JSW is BOELKE’s ex-boyfriend and JSW had been harassing her.
He said JSW came to the residence three times that night and had damaged his vehicle. He said that during the latest incident, JSW was armed with a baseball bat, was smashing things in his yard, and trying to get into the backyard with BOELKE. He said he heard BOELKE scream and found JSW in the backyard. He said JSW threatened him with the baseball bat, so he chased him out of the yard. When JSW came at him with the baseball bat again, CHRISTOPHER ran into the house, grabbed a shotgun, and used it to chase WALTER off the property and up the street.
Police recovered a baseball bat on Jessamine Ave near where they first encountered CHRISTOPHER. When Police spoke to TIMOTHY, he admitted that CHRISTOPHER had a shotgun. He said JSW came to the residence with a baseball bat, was destroying their property, and they had a right to defend their property. JSW refused to cooperate with Police but said CHRISTOPHER chased after him with a gun. Police spoke to BOELKE who said that earlier in the day JSW got into an altercation with CHRISTOPER and JSW damaged the windshield on CHRISOPHER’s vehicle.
JSW returned at about 1900 hours. He and CHRISTOPHER got into an argument, CHRISTOPHER kicked JSW off the property, and told him that if he returned, he would be shot. At about 2300 hours, JSW returned again and she heard CHRISTOPHER and JSW arguing. CHRISTOPHER came into the house, grabbed a shotgun with a scope, and started to chase JSW north on Kingsford St threatening to shoot him. BOELKE urged CHRISTOPHER to stop and put the gun away. CHRISTOPHER continued following JSW at which time BOELKE began recording the incident on her cell phone.
