On October 27, 2025, DERRICK ALLAN GOODE aka DERRICK ALLEN GOODE [DOB REDACTED] failed to appear at sentencing on a felony obstruction of legal process in Dakota County District Court file 19HA-CR-24-416. A warrant was issued for Goode’s arrest. At around 10:00 PM on November 16, 2025, officers went to [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Paul, Ramsey County on a burglary. SG [DOB REDACTED] reported that her friend, Goode, had kicked in the door to her apartment and had threatened her with a knife. SG then reported that Goode had put the knife down, but dispatch still heard SG and Goode arguing.
Officers arrived and the homeowner said, “They’re up there. The door’s kicked in.” Officers found Goode seated on a couch and SG sitting on the dining room table. Officers ordered Goode to place his hands behind his back. Goode refused to comply and reached down towards a machete that was on the couch. Officers moved the machete and physically apprehended Goode. Goode struggled with officers and at one point grabbed onto an officer’s firearm. The officer put his hand over Goode’s hand that grasped the firearm, and he told Goode to release the firearm.
Goode did not release the firearm. The officer eventually moved his hip and tore Goode’s hand from the firearm. Goode’s hand was on the firearm for 15-20 seconds. Officers deployed ASR and eventually took Goode into custody. SG said she was barely acquainted with Goode. She had let him stay in her unit a few weeks ago when it was cold. Goode came to her home around 7:00 PM that night and tried to get SG to let him inside. Goode kicked the door in, entered, and threatened SG, her nephew, and her niece.
Goode waved a machete and charged SG and her relatives before backing off. Goode kept screaming, “I’m gonna kill you all.” SG’s nephew and niece left and refused to come back to speak to police. Officers recovered the machete SG said Goode used. Officers recovered a pocketknife from Goode’s clothes. Goode has 6 prior felony convictions including a prior burglary in the first degree and a prior threat of violence.
