On March 8, 2026, at approximately 2:46 P.M., Minnetonka Police were dispatched to a theft report from Macy's, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Minnetonka, Hennepin County. Upon arrival, police spoke with asset protection P. K. Who stated that at approximately 2:23 P.M. A theft had occurred. The male suspected entered the store and walked to the handbag department. The suspect then selects three coach handbags before pulling multiple plastics Macy's shopping bags out of his pants and placing the handbags into the plastic bags.
The suspect then selects multiple items from the women's department before going to the luggage department and selecting a pink suitcase. The suspect then placed multiples items into the suitcase. The suspect then grabbed a Shark vacuum, grabbed all the merchandise he had collected, and left the store without attempting to forfeit or pay for the stolen merchandise. The total value of the vacuum and suitcase, as the only items Macy's could confirm stolen, was $1,199.98. After the suspect left, multiple defeated cables were located in the area that the suspect had presumedly taken off the merchandise.
After the male suspect walked out, he entered a gold Saturn SUV (MN SMX479) which registers to Nicole Griffen. Nicole's husband matches the still shot and video footage from the theft, identifying the male suspect as DENNIS DURRELL GRIFFEN [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Police compared Defendant's DVS photograph to the video footage and confirmed the suspect as Defendant. Additionally, the sergeant contacted an officer that previously arrested Defendant, and the officer confirmed the suspect to be Defendant.
At present, defendant is not in custody.
