On January 16, 2026, at approximately 8:52 P.M., Officer Jeff Krall of the Deer River Police Department was dispatched to [ADDRESS REDACTED] NE, Deer River, Itasca County, in regard to N. R. M. Reporting that her husband, Scott Allen Morgan Jr., had beat her up. Dispatch indicated that when they attempted to acquire further information, she did not respond to the questions. Upon arrival at the scene, Officer Krall found the residence to be in disarray from a possible altercation. Said Officer located N. R. M. In the kitchen.
She was breathing hard, crying, and was very upset. She had a hard time speaking. She requested an ice pack while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. Officer Krall then spoke with N. R. M. Who reported that she and her husband had earlier become involved in a verbal argument that later turned physical. She stated that he had been calling her a "ho" and other mean things. She stated that they were both in the apartment, but were texting each other from different rooms. She stated that he was becoming increasingly aggressive, at which time she indicated that she was going to call his probation officer.
She stated that he became upset and ran at her down the hallway while she was in the recliner chair in the living room. She said that he speared into her and pushed her over in the chair, then landed on top of her near the wall. She stated he was holding her down while she was telling him to get off of her, in which he eventually did. N. R. M. Stated that she then told him that she was going to call the cops, at which time he grabbed her phone and threw it against the wall. She stated that she could not locate the phone and he kept coming toward her, at which time she sprayed him with mace.
She stated he then speared her into an end table and kept pushing on her chest and yelling into her ear. She stated that he then left the apartment. A short time later, Morgan was located in the alleyway of First Street NE. He stated that after their initial argument, N. R. M. Left the apartment stating that she was going to kill herself. He stated that she later returned and said "we are done." He claimed that she then came out and pushed him over in the chair in the living room. He said she made it appear that she was calling his probation officer, but actually wasn't. He stated that they had been texting back and forth.
He then claimed that she came out of the bedroom and pushed him over while he was in the recliner chair. He stated that she was yelling, "stop hitting me," so that everyone could hear her. He claimed that she grabbed him and pulled him down into the end table, causing him to fall on top of her. He stated that he got maced, grabbed his stuff, and left the apartment. He claimed that she never told him that she was calling 911. At the conclusion of his statement, photographs were taken. He was then arrested and transported to the Itasca County Jail by Deputy Cody Dillinger. 2 ••-CR-••-•••• Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 1/20/2026 Officer Krall then proceeded to the Deer River Emergency Room to obtain a follow up statement from N. R. M. During the statement, she essentially recounted the same version of events she provided at the apartment, except in greater detail.
