Your complainant is an investigator with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office – West Metro Drug Task Force. Your complainant states that on February 26, 2026, a search warrant was executed at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in the City of Orono, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Your complainant advised Orono Police Department officers to conduct a traffic stop of the homeowner’s vehicle bearing Minnesota license plate number WT2517. The homeowner, previously identified as TODD MICHAEL TRETTEL, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein, and was taken into custody.

Your complainant entered the residence, and conducted a search pursuant to the scope of the search warrant. Your complainant and other West Metro Drug Task Force investigators located several baggies containing a substance that field test positive for cocaine, several drug paraphernalia items, and several firearms. Detective Toll located a Sturm Ruger 9-millimeter pistol in a safe in the south bedroom, as well as two loaded 9- millimeter pistol magazines in the safe. Detective Toll located an ammunition box containing 9-millimeter and 12- gauge shotgun ammunition, and two boxes of 12-gauge shotgun ammunition in the closet of the south bedroom.

A Mossberg 500 12-gauge shotgun was located in a wall lock on the wall of the staircase leading to the basement. An Undercover Investigator located a Ruger American 30-06 with a Leupold scope in the basement near the east wall. Your complainant read the defendant his Miranda Warning. The defendant claimed ownership of all three firearms that were located in the residence, and stated that he has owned them all for several years. The defendant described each firearm by their make and location inside the residence.

A check of the defendant’s criminal history revealed a prior felony conviction, punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year, on February 24, 2026, which prohibits the defendant from possessing any firearms or ammunition. (Hennepin County District Court File Number: 27-CR-25-16850).
