On May 9, 2026, officers from the Plymouth Police Department responded to a report of a robbery on the 1800 block of Berkshire Lane in the City of Plymouth, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Upon arrival officers made contact with three individuals, fully identified in officers’ reports, herein identified as Victim 1, Victim 2 and Witness respectively. Victim 1 told officers he, Victim 2 and Witness were sitting in a vehicle at that location when they were approached by two males in a silver Kia SUV. These suspected males were identified as a black male wearing all black and a white male with short, straight brown hair.
After initially acting nicely, one of the suspects pulled out a firearm and pointed it at Victim 1 and Victim 2. Victim 1 described the gun as possibly a Glock handgun with a black slide and grey/green handle. The black male put Victim 1 in a headlock and forced Victim 1 into a grassy area near the vehicle. Victim 1 was hit on the head with a gun which caused a cut and bump. Officers photographed the injury to Victim 1. Victim 1 said he and Victim 2 were instructed to lay down on the ground. While laying on the ground, Victim 1 said he saw at least three more individuals come from the east side of the parking lot.
All of them were wearing face masks. These suspects took Victim 1’s phone and shoes. Victim 2 said he was forced out of the vehicle and onto a grassy area. At that point, Victim 1 stated he was pistol whipped in the head as one of the suspects told Victim 1 he was going to die. The suspects took Victim 2’s phone and keys to his vehicle. Witness told officers she was hanging out with Victim 1 and Victim 2. Witness said they dropped her off to use the bathroom and drove away. Witness waited for them and became worried when they didn’t return.
About 20 minutes later, Victim 1 and Victim 2 returned, and Witness saw blood on Victim 2’s face and they asked Witness to call the police. Officers were able to track a phone that was taken during the robbery. The phone pinged to residence located on the 200 block of Leighton Drive in the City of Big Lake, MN. Officers then checked the area and located a silver/gray Kia SUV that matched the description of the suspect vehicle provided by the Victims. Officers found that this same vehicle was observed on camera approximately three blocks from the area of the robbery.
Through investigation, officers identified three of the suspects as Oman Thoye, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant 1 herein; Tyree Thielen, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant 2 herein; and Govani Antonio Penaloza Zamora, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant 3 herein. During an interview, Defendant 1 admitted to participating in the robberies. Defendant 1 admitted to driving one of the two vehicles used in the commission of the robbery. Defendant 1 said that he searched the Victims’ vehicle for items of value while armed with what Defendant 1 claimed was a BB pistol.
