On January 7, 2026, around 12:08 A.M., officers responded to a stabbing call at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Dispatch notes relayed that a female had reported being stabbed. Upon arrival, officers could hear a male and a female arguing from inside the residence. In the residence, officers located an adult female (“Victim”) and an adult male who is Victim’s son (“Witness 1”). Witness 1 told officers that the suspect who had stabbed them with a knife was in a back bedroom.
Officers ordered the suspect from the bedroom, arrested him, and identified him as Defendant THOMAS KEITH PANTZE, born on [DOB REDACTED]. Inside the residence officers observed blood splatters on the walls and a clothes hamper. Officers located a knife with apparent dried blood on the blade. Witness 1 told officers that he heard Defendant and Victim [NAME REDACTED]. He then saw Defendant push Victim [NAME REDACTED] into the living room. Defendant then produced a black pocket knife and stabbed Victim.
At that point, Witness 1 intervened and tackled Defendant. Witness 1 noted that Victim is a vulnerable adult. In a follow-up statement, Witness described Defendant having “no remorse” when he “dug” the knife into Victim. Witness 1 stated that he bit Defendant’s right finger to release his grip. Witness 1 reported that Defendant is Victim’s boyfriend and that the parties have been in a relationship for over a year. Victim [NAME REDACTED] had consumed a bottle of Jack Daniels before he started arguing with her.
Victim attempted to calm Defendant down and get him to go to bed. But Defendant continued arguing with Victim [NAME REDACTED] into her closet. Victim described how Defendant refused to allow her to get on her feet and noted that she had previous back issues. While she was pinned to the ground, Defendant held a knife to her throat and slowly made a small cut across her. Defendant stated that he would have no problem “doing ten years for you.” Victim [NAME REDACTED], got on her feet, and called for Witness 1 to help.
While attempting to flee from Defendant, he lunged forward once and stabbed her in the stomach area. Victim shared that Witness 1 and Defendant then had a physical altercation until police arrived. At the hospital, Victim received treatment for a three-centimeter abdominal stab wound. In an ambulance, Defendant stated that Witness 1 had attacked him and threw him to the ground and that Victim and Witness 1 then both attacked him while on the ground. Defendant claimed that Witness 1 strangled him.
Defendant did not know how the knife was involved in the incident. Defendant was hospitalized and received stitches for a forehead injury. Witness 2 told officers that they heard two males and a female arguing in Victim’s residence. Witness 2 also heard some rumbling sounds from the residence. Witness 3 heard a disturbance from the involved residence. Witness 3 went to check what was occurring. When Witness 3 opened the residence door, they saw Defendant being restrained on the ground with a knife in his hand.
