On or about June 26, 2025, Law Enforcement received an automatic license plate reader alert for a stolen vehicle in the area of the Spring House Apartments located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] NW, Coon Rapids, Anoka County, MN. Law Enforcement responded to the area and located the stolen vehicle parked in the apartment building parking lot. Law Enforcement reviewed surveillance footage from when the stolen vehicle arrives in the parking lot. A male, later identified through investigation as JARVIS ALLEN KING [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, is observed walking away from the area of where the stolen vehicle was parked.
Law Enforcement arrive moments later based on the alert for the stolen vehicle, and Defendant is observed avoiding contact with Law Enforcement as he walks through the parking lot. Defendant meets up with two other individuals, a male and female, and walks into the apartment building and enters unit #140. The female, identified as KAJUANA YVETTE SHEPHERD, later acts as a look out for Defendant by going to a side door in the apartment building to observe Law Enforcement as the stolen vehicle is processed and towed.
At the same time, Defendant is lingering in the hallway of the apartment building. Once Law Enforcement and the tow truck clear the scene, Defendant exits the apartment building and gets into a Lyft ride. Through investigation, Law Enforcement determined the Lyft was ordered by Defendant. While processing the stolen vehicle, Law Enforcement observed the door handle to be broken off and the lock was damaged. Inside of the vehicle, the steering column was torn apart and the ignition was punched. Defendant has two active felony warrants, see court file nos. 27-CR-25-26270 and 27-CR-25-29403, and his present whereabouts are unknown.
Accordingly, the State respectfully requests a body only complaint warrant issue in this matter and requests Defendant be held in custody until appropriate bail and conditions of release are set pursuant to Minn. R. Crim. Pro 6.02, subd. 1, to include the issuance of appropriate protective orders.
