At approximately 3:10 A.M. On February 01, 2026, Wright County Sheriff’s Deputy Blackford stopped a black 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe bearing Minnesota license plate [PLATE REDACTED] in Albertville, Wright County, Minnesota because it crossed the fog line and displayed expired registration. The driver was identified as Dale Charles Kryzer [DOB REDACTED] (hereinafter “the defendant”). A records check showed the defendant’s driver’s license was revoked. The defendant admitted he knew he could not be driving.
Deputy Blackford detected the odor of breath alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. The defendant lit a cigarette at the beginning of the traffic stop. Deputy Blackford noticed the defendant had sunken cheeks, bags under his eyes, rapid speech, nervousness and shaking, and bloodshot eyes with constricted pupils. The defendant admitted having two alcoholic drinks earlier, around 11:00 P.M. Or 12:00 A.M. When the defendant performed standard field sobriety tests, Deputy Blackford observed indicia of impairment consistent with controlled substance use.
The defendant took a preliminary breath test, with a result of 0.006 BAC. The defendant was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired by a controlled substance. A zip-top baggie containing a white crystal substance was located in the front right coin pocket of the defendant’s pants. The substance later field tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 1.07 grams. Methamphetamine is a Schedule II controlled substance. A signed search warrant for a sample of the defendant’s blood or urine was obtained.
The search warrant advisory was read to the defendant. The defendant was informed of the warrant and told that refusal to test is a crime. The defendant ultimately refused to supply a blood or urine sample. The defendant was convicted of gross misdemeanor driving while impaired on April 05, 2021 in Wright County District Court File No. ••-CR-••-••••, for an offense that occurred on or about July 01, 2020. He has a separate implied-consent driver’s license revocation from October 25, 2018.
