Your complainant is employed by the Minnesota Department of Corrections as a Special Investigator. In that capacity, and after a review of the reports relating to an incident occurring on or about August 4, 2025, complainant states the following to establish probable cause: On August 4, 2025, GREGORY ANTOINE DAVIS [DOB REDACTED] and F. S. Were both incarcerated at Minnesota Correctional Facility – Stillwater. DAVIS is incarcerated serving a life sentence having previously been convicted of Homicide.
On that date, a Correctional Sergeant observed DAVIS and F. S. Fighting. As they approached them, the correctional officer observed DAVIS and F. S. Reaching for what could have been weapons. Being the sole correctional officer present at the time, the correctional officer gave loud verbal commands and deployed chemical irritant to DAVIS and F. S. Additional correctional officer responded and recovered a large shank from DAVIS. Later, a second weapon that was in F. S.'s waistband was recovered from the phone bank where the fight occurred.
Video surveillance was reviewed which showed DAVIS and F. S. Face each other and moving around in a confrontational manner. Both DAVIS and F. S. Reach into their waistbands. DAVIS is then seen turning his back to F. S. As though he was going to walk away. DAVIS then turns around and charges toward F. S., first kicking him and then immediately making a downward striking motion with his right hand. F. S. Sustained multiple lacerations requiring sutures and skin glue.
