On March 11, 2026, a Metro Transit Police Department Officer conducting routine CCTV checks observed a male within the SB Penn Avenue & 36th Avenue BRT Platform, located in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, sitting down with what appeared to be unused tinfoil. Officers continued to watch and observed the male place and prepare a substance onto tinfoil and the proceed to smoke it within the shelter. Officer(s) made contact with the male, and observed the male to have a small baggie of white powder-like substance sticking out of his upper right jacket pocket.
The officer(s) seized this item. This substance later weighed approximately 0.47 gram without packaging and field tested positive for fentanyl. While the officer inspected this baggie, the male suddenly reached into the same pocket, pulled out an item, and placed the item into his mouth. The male subsequently informed the officer(s) that he had swallowed fentanyl. The male was placed under arrest and identified as Johnathan Mohler [DOB REDACTED], "Defendant" herein. Defendant was found to have warrants.
A second clear plastic baggie was recovered from his Defendant’s right pocket. The baggie contained a pink colored substance. This substance weighed approximately 0.48 gram without packaging and field tested positive as methamphetamine. Defendant is currently in custody.
