On 12/09/2025, Deputies with the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of Threats of Violence by Joshua Curtis Baggenstos, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the Defendant, against multiple individuals the day prior. N. K. H. Stated that he had been observing Defendant’s Snapchat behavior and was concerned. N. K. H. Stated he observed Defendant make several posts about another male Defendant believed to be a pedophile. N. K. H. Took a screenshot of the posting, which notified Defendant. Defendant then called N. K. H. To confront him about why he had taken a screenshot of his post.
During the conversation between Defendant and N. K. H., Defendant began to talk about a specific judge who oversaw a custody case involving Defendant’s children. Defendant indicated he knows where the judge lives and provided the actual city and street the judge lives on. Upon review of Defendant’s custody case, the overseeing judge, hereinafter Victim, [NAME REDACTED] on the street and city indicated by Defendant. Defendant goes on to explain, “There’s a possibility I’m gonna f****** kill him and his entire family…The only f****** thing I give a s*** about is revenge.
That’s the only thing that matters to me is making these people pay… I won’t let them take me alive… [A]s soon as the first person is dead, as soon as I’m intervened and surrounded by police cars, it’s gonna be a shootout with police. And, they’re gonna, they’re gonna have to take me dead. I’m not going to let them take me alive.” In a post-Miranda statement, Defendant agreed that his threats to kill were aimed at the judge from his custody hearing, Victim. Defendant also agreed that his threats were made out of anger.
