On 11/09/2025 at approximately 1945 hours, Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at an apartment complex at 85* Olson Memorial Highway, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers began investigating the incident and collected reports from a known adult female, Victim 1 herein, a known juvenile female, Victim 2 herein, and a known adult male, Victim 3 herein. Victims 1, 2, and 3, who are all residents of the apartment complex, reported the following: NIKOLAS RICHARD PIGOZZO, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, who is a stranger to the Victims, broke into the apartment complex.
Defendant was then observed checking apartment unit doorknobs. Defendant eventually reached the apartment unit of Victim 1 and forced himself in. Defendant then began assaulting Victim 1. Victim 2, who is the granddaughter of Victim 1, was woken up by the assault and attempted to help Victim 1. Defendant then threw Victim 2 into a wall, causing her to lose consciousness. After regaining consciousness, Victim 2 observed that Defendant and Victim 1 were in a locked bedroom. Victim 2 was able to get Defendant to unlock the bedroom door, at which point Defendant began assaulting Victim 2. Victim 2 then fled the apartment unit and sought help.
Victim 2 was able to get the attention of Victim 3 who was in his apartment unit. Victim 2 then went back to her grandmother’s apartment unit and was able to get Defendant to chase her. Victim 2 ran to Victim 3’s apartment unit and entered it to hide from Defendant. Defendant then forced himself into Victim 3’s apartment unit and began assaulting Victim 3. Victim 3 then grabbed a hatchet he had and struck the Defendant multiple times while defending himself from Defendant. Victim 3 was eventually able to subdue Defendant at which point another resident called the police.
Officers and EMS arrived and transported Defendant to HCMC where he was treated for life-threatening injuries. Officers spoke with Victim 1, who was observed to be confused and disoriented. Victim 2 stated that Victim 1 was not normally like this and believed Victim 1 had suffered a head injury. Officers observed a bump on Victim 1’s head and blood on her ear. Officers spoke with Victim 3 who stated that he suffered minor injuries. Defendant’s whereabouts are unknown. Given the seriousness of the offense and to ensure Defendant’s appearance, a warrant is requested.
