This case involves a law enforcement encounter.
Probable Cause
On March 12, 2026, SOPHIE SOKHOM ROSE [DOB REDACTED] was an inmate at the Ramsey County Adult Detention Center at [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Paul, Ramsey County. Correctional officers told Rose to return to her cell. Rose ran to an area where cleaning supplies are stored, and she grabbed a broom. Rose swung the broom at correctional officers. Correctional Officer Hausken felt a sharp pain to her left hand during the struggle, and she believes Rose struck her hand with the broom. Correctional officers took the broom from Rose, detained her, and got her back to her cell.
Correctional Officer Hausken went to the hospital to have her injury evaluated. She did not have any broken bones, but she had a large bruise that developed on the top of her left hand. Rose is currently in custody in Ramsey County. Rose has a warrant for her arrest in Scott County District Court file 70-CR-20-15337 where she is charged with two counts of felony assault in the fourth degree for assaulting two correctional officers. Rose has repeatedly failed to appear in court in that case.
