On July 10, 2025, at approximately 1:16 P.M., law enforcement officers were on routine patrol outside of a Travel Lodge in the area of James Circle North in Brooklyn Center, Hennepin County, Minnesota, when they observed an individual with a backpack, subsequently identified as LATRELL JOSEPH BOBO [DOB REDACTED], "Defendant" herein. Officers observed Defendant reach into the backpack and appear to exchange something for something else from another individual, and officers suspected the transaction to be a narcotics transaction.
Defendant attempted to leave the area, and officers stopped Defendant. Defendant gave permission to officers to search his person, where officers located marijuana in Defendant's pockets. Officers then asked to search Defendant's backpack, and Defendant declined. Officers then searched the backpack given the odor of marijuana from the backpack, Defendant being suspected of involvement in a drug transaction, the backpack specifically being involved in the transaction, and the marijuana already on his person.
In the backpack, officers recovered suspected MDMA pills. The backpack also contained a scale and a total of 76 multicolored pills in several plastic packages. Your complainant alleges this is indicative of intent to sell. The pills were subsequently sent to the BCA, and one pill tested positively for methamphetamine and weighed.439 grams. Defendant is not presently in-custody.
