On 11/23/2025, at approximately 1715 hours, law enforcement officers with the Richfield Police Department responded to a residence in Richfield, Hennepin County, about an identified adult female (herein Victim) possibly being held against her will by a male with a gun. The suspect was subsequently identified as LA'VON JAY CORDERO-DANIELS, [DOB REDACTED] (CORDERO-DANIELS). CORDERO-DANIELS and Victim have a significant romantic relationship. CORDERO-DANIELS was gone on law enforcement arrival. Victim reported that CORDERO-DANIELS took her cellphone the day prior after an argument.
CORDERO- DANIELS returned on the date in question and demanded $100 to return the phone. CORDERO-DANIELS became upset when Victim refused to provide her cellphone password and Victim attempted to contact police with her sister's phone. CORDERO-DANIELS physically assaulted Victim and pulled a braid out of her head. Law enforcement located the removed braid on scene. CORDERO-DANIELS assaulted Victim with scissors and law enforcement observed a gash/cut-mark on Victim's arm. Victim reported that the scissors are for cutting hair and are approximately six inches long.
Victim [NAME REDACTED], bloody nails and a scratch mark on her neck. Victim [NAME REDACTED] from CORDERO-DANIELS that were received at approximately 1735 hours. They said, "If my money ain't sent by the end of the night I'll be back to shoot that b**** up" and "I seen you called the police lol you funny asl." Victim [NAME REDACTED] from another phone that stated, "Tell [Victim] she ain't shii for calling the police watch she made ts worse" and "Watch I go to jail I am sending my ppls to your house." Victim has knowledge that CORDERO-DANIELS is known to carry a firearm.
A warrant is sought due to the public safety risk presented herein.
