On December 11, 2025, Brooklyn Park Police responded to a report of a person strangling a 1 year old and threatening to use a firearm at a residence in Brooklyn Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers learned that the suspect, CHRISTOPHER MICHAEL BANKS, JR., [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, had facetimed the mother of his children, Victim herein. While on Facetime, Defendant turned the camera and appeared to strangle their one year old child. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was calling the police. Officers arrived and eventually detained Defendant.
A firearm was taken from the property as well. While speaking with Victim, [NAME REDACTED] was upset with Victim [NAME REDACTED] was seeing someone else. They reviewed text messages that showed Defendant telling to "catch these bullets." Victim [NAME REDACTED] one of the Facetime calls, Defendant told her and her friend to drive to the residence so he could "blast the windshield." Defendant also made comments about popping off at police if they show up to the residence. It's believed this is a reference to shooting at any police officers that might respond to Victim's 911 call.
Defendant is in custody.
