On January 3, 2026, at approximately 1:55 A.M., Olmsted County Deputies were dispatched to a residence on 7th Street NE, Olmsted County, regarding a domestic assault. Upon arrival, Deputy Heeren made contact with Victim, an adult female fully identified in police reports, who stated that her boyfriend, TIMOTHY KYLE KRUGER [DOB REDACTED], had assaulted her and left the residence. Victim [NAME REDACTED] in bed, KRUGER hit her multiple times with a closed fist on her back, ribs, and face. KRUGER then pushed her head into a pillow saying he was going to strangle Victim [NAME REDACTED], “I’m going to kill you if you don’t shut up”. Deputies observed Victim’s left eye to appear to be turning black underneath her eye.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] was blurry and felt numb from the assault. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was scared. KRUGER has previously hit her in the past. KRUGER was seen by Deputy Cottinham driving away from the residence. Deputy Cottingham conducted a traffic stop due to an equipment violation. While speaking with KRUGER, Deputy Cottingham observed KRUGER’s eyes to be bloodshot, glossy, and watery, his speech to be slurred, and observed the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from KRUGER's person. KRUGER admitted to drinking a few beers prior to driving.
KRUGER agreed to perform field sobriety testing, during which Deputy Cottingham observed numerous indicators of alcohol impairment. KRUGER submitted to a preliminary breath test, which indicated a 0.156 alcohol concentration. KRUGER was arrested. KRUGER was transported to the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center, where he was read the Breath Test Advisory. KRUGER refused to provide two adequate samples for the Data Master Transportable test. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE. FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR COURT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL CRIMINAL CHARGES BEING IMPOSED AND PUNISHED AS PROVIDED IN MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 609.49.
