On November 8, 2025, around 2:49 P.M., law enforcement was conducting routine patrol around the 21400 block of Viking Boulevard NE, Linwood Township, Anoka County, when law enforcement observed a vehicle, a red sedan (MN/YNHU808), speeding (going 82 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone). Law enforcement attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle by turning on its squad lights and sirens, but the vehicle, later determined to be driven by Nicholas Christopher Nowack [DOB REDACTED], defendant herein, accelerated away from law enforcement.
A pursuit ensued. Defendant crashed at a nearby intersection into a white Mercedes Benz Fedex vehicle (MN/YBX2818) driven by S. C., causing Officer Adams to rear-end Defendant’s vehicle as well. Both S. C. And Officer Adams had injuries. S. C. Told law enforcement he was experiencing knee pain after the crash. Defendant continued to flee and drive recklessly through traffic, leaving the scene of the collision. Eventually, the pursuit ended when law enforcement conducted a PIT maneuver on defendant’s vehicle.
As defendant was being arrested, law enforcement observed signs of impairment, such as the odor of alcohol, watery eyes, loss of balance, and mood swings. Defendant also was actively resisting arrest, yelling, and swearing. In the back of the squad car, defendant was kicking and banging his head against the squad vehicle. Defendant was exerting so much force that the rear doors of the squad were beginning to displace from the door frame. Defendant was transported to the hospital. A blood draw was conducted.
Results are pending. In a search of defendant’s vehicle, officers found an open bottle of Windsor Canadian whiskey was found on the driver’s floorboard. Defendant has a prior misdemeanor conviction for DWI in 02-CR-12-8667 from January 22, 2013.
