In April 2025, Detective McSweeny of the Rochester Police Department conducted a controlled purchase of methamphetamine utilizing a confidential informant. The CI informed Det. McSweeny that they knew of individuals they could purchase methamphetamine from in the Rochester area. Based on this representation, a controlled buy was set up. The CI was searched to ensure they did not possess any contraband or money. The CI was outfitted with a surveillance device and was provided with prerecorded cash.
While detectives performed surveillance on the CI's location, they observed the CI meet with PEDRO MOLINA III [DOB REDACTED]. The CI provided Molina with cash and Molina provided the CI with methamphetamine. The CI immediately returned to a predetermined meeting location and gave the methamphetamine to Det. McSweeny. Det. McSweeny subsequently processed the methamphetamine, which weighed 1.9 grams and tested presumptively positive using a field test kit. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE. FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR COURT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL CRIMINAL CHARGES BEING IMPOSED AND PUNISHED AS PROVIDED IN MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 609.49.
