The passenger of the vehicle was identified as EMERY SCOTT SCHWARZKOPF, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein. The driver was identified as his brother, T. S. The defendant was arrested and transported to the Benton County Jail on outstanding warrants. As part of a related and ongoing investigation law enforcement executed a search warrant on the defendant’s parents’ residence on 47th St SE, Haven Township, Sherburne County the following day. The defendant was known to reside and/or spend significant time at this residence.
Defendant’s parents had left the residence on March 12, 2026, and traveled out of state for a week. Several items related to the ongoing investigation were located in the residence. In addition, five firearms were located, one of which had been stolen from Pine County in 2022. The property owners, defendant's parents, reported none of the items belonged to either of them. Later that day, Sergeant Turner spoke with the defendant, who reported his brother T. S. Had brought the firearms over to the property before his parents went on vacation.
T. S. Told the defendant he thought the police would be searching his home and he did not want them to find the firearms. The defendant agreed to store the firearms in the property’s basement and the defendant helped unload them from T. S.’s truck into the basement room. The defendant agreed that his and T. S.’s DNA would be on the firearms. A review of the defendant’s criminal history confirmed a prior felony conviction for Felony Drugs - 5th Degree - Sale or Possession on or about August 19, 2010. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
Stat. 609.49, intentional failure to appear for duly scheduled court appearances may result in additional criminal charges, and in addition to any arrest warrant that may otherwise be issued by the Court.
