On March 8, 2026, at approximately 3:36 P.M., Saint Paul Officers responded to a domestic assault on the 1100 block of Barclay Street, Saint Paul, County of Ramsey. A female caller said the male she was with said he was going to shoot her. Officers arrived and spoke with the female caller, SRT. SRT said her boyfriend-later identified as MIGUEL ANGEL AMILL DIAZ, [DOB REDACTED]-threatened her. SRT said she and AMILL DIAZ argued the prior night and police were called. They were in the parking lot because AMILL DIAZ was working on a vehicle.
She was standing on the sidewalk outside of the apartment. AMILL DIAZ told her to get in his car so he could take her somewhere. She refused. He told her that he would “put a bullet in you.” He grabbed her by the arm and told her to get in the car. She told him she did not want to go with him. SRT asked AMILL DIAZ to let her walk away, but he kept pulling her toward the car. She told him she wanted to walk away and cool off. He was able to pull her all the way to the car and she got inside. Shortly after, officers arrived.
She got out of the vehicle and walked to officers. SRT said she and AMILL DIAZ have been dating for three months. She and AMILL DIAZ have lived at the same address on Englewood Avenue. AMILL DIAZ was observed walking around a silver Chevrolet Tahoe. After a Miranda advisory, he spoke to an officer. He said he took his girlfriend (SRT) to the address while he worked on a friend’s vehicle. SRT disrespected him by saying that he was willing to help his friends, but does not love her and does not spend enough time with her.
He was upset because SRT was causing a scene in front of his clients and friends. SRT became more upset because he would not take her to her friend’s house. AMILL DIAZ said it did not get physical. When AMILL DIAZ exited the squad car for a search, a wallet and box cutter fell out of his pants pocket. AMILL DIAZ told an officer to give his wallet to a friend who was in the area. An officer picked up the wallet and noticed a folder dollar bill with something inside. AMILL DIAZ immediately said the dollar belonged to SRT. When asked, he said there was methamphetamine inside the folder dollar bill.
AMILL DIAZ said he only had it because he took it away from SRT to protect her. An officer was able to reach another 911 caller, JH. JH said he did not want to be involved, but called to make sure SRT was okay. JH said he was cutting his brother’s hair when he heard a male and female arguing. The male tried to get the female into the vehicle for the past hour. The male yelled at the female, “Get in the car!” multiple times and the female said, “no.” At some point, the male said, “I’ll f****** shoot you.” JH said he saw the female try to walk away from the male, who followed her.
They went out of his view. He did see the male pulling the female back, and holding her arm. The argument continued outside. He heard something like a loud slap. He looked outside and saw the female holding her cheek. The suspected drugs were presumptively tested, item #1, result positive for methamphetamine.24 grams.
