At 1:05 AM on April 6, 2026, officers were sent to McDonald’s at [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Paul, Ramsey County on a slumper in the drive-thru. Officers found WILLIE NATHANIEL WILLIAMS [DOB REDACTED] passed out in the driver’s seat of a Dodge Caravan bearing Minnesota license plate ZTJ528. The Caravan was running, in gear, and Williams’ foot was on the brake pedal. Staff said Williams had been slumped over for at least 10 minutes. Williams’ head was near his knees, and there was a pool of drool on his lap.
Officers knocked and woke Williams. Officers had Williams put the Caravan in park. Officers noted a strong odor of consumed alcoholic beverage. Williams’ eyes were bloodshot, and his movements were slow and lethargic. Williams’ speech was slurred. Officers asked Williams to step out of the Caravan, and he refused. Officers escorted Williams from the Caravan, and Williams stumbled. Officers asked Williams if he was willing to perform field sobriety tests. Williams refused. Williams insisted he would walk home.
Williams turned and ran. Officers took Williams into custody. Officers obtained a search warrant to collect a blood or urine sample from Williams. At 3:01 AM, a blood sample was collected from Williams. The sample will be submitted to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for analysis. On May 17, 2006, Williams was sentenced on a DWI in Ramsey County District Court file 62-T4-06- 006882. On May 26, 2015, Williams was sentenced on a gross misdemeanor DWI in Ramsey County District Court file 62-CR-12-10146. On October 22, 2018, Williams was sentenced on a gross misdemeanor DWI in Hennepin County District Court file 27-CR-18-17370. On January 17, 2020, Williams was sentenced on a felony DWI in Ramsey County District Court 62-CR- 19-2484.
