On March 20, 2026, at approximately 11:15am, Deputy Johnson of the Moorhead was dispatched to Felton near Borup to assist Sergeant Krone in locating a male with outstanding Clay County warrants. In route, just past Glyndon Sergeant Krone radioed for an assist with stopping a vehicle he was behind. Deputy Johnson pulled up next to Sergeant Krone and observed the vehicle in front of the Sergeant was a silver Dodge Ram.
The driver of the Dodge Ram was Ricardo Mendoza-Bandera, [DOB REDACTED], hereafter “Defendant.” Sergeant Krone informed Deputy Johnson that the Defendant had a felony level warrant. Deputy Johnson conducted a traffic stop and asked the male driver his name. The Defendant indicated his first name was the same as had been given to Deputy Johnson by Sergeant Krone. Deputy Johnson arrested the Defendant per the warrant and searched him incident to arrest. Deputy Johnson located a folded-up dollar bill in the Defendant’s right pocket of his jeans.
There was an item inside the folded-up dollar bill which the Defendant stated was “cocaine.” Deputy Johnson took the folded-up dollar bill to the Law Enforcement Center. Upon opening the dollar bill, Deputy Johnson observed a white, crystalline substance. Deputy Johnson field tested the substance which tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed approximately 1 gram. ### PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
