On April 3, 2026, the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at the residence of CHAD CHARLES WESTBY [DOB REDACTED] in Rochester, Olmsted County, MN. During the search, law enforcement located the following: Numerous cell phones Numerous digital scales Unused small plastic bags 0.7 grams of presumptively positive methamphetamine on a nightstand next to the bed in the residence 20.6 grams of presumptively positive fentanyl on a nightstand next to the bed in the residence 1 and a half white suspected Alprazolam pills in Westby's pants pocket 33 suspected Alprazolam pills inside the bedroom of the residence $10,500 of US currency, a majority of which was found on the bed inside the residence or in Westby's pants pockets Law enforcement recognized the relatively large quantity of fentanyl to be in excess of what a user would possess for personal consumption.
In combination with the large quantity of cash, multiple digital scales, and unused small plastic bags, law enforcement determined that Westby possessed the fentanyl with the intent to repackage and distribute it to others. Westby was previously convicted of Controlled Substance Crime in the Second Degree in 55-CR-17- 5290.
